AOK 7, KVA B, KvGr. Saint-Renan, Stp. M.K.B. Graf Spee - Leitstand, Re 302.

Along the road D85 from the coast by Saint-Mathieu towards Plougonvelin lies the Leitstand für schwere Seezielbaterrie - Fire Control Post heavy batterie, for the M.K.B. Graf Spee that is situated on an other location nearby, clearly visible on a small hill.
This location was till 2012 closed as military terrain, but is now abandoned and more or less open….!

You can drive around the hill with the bunkers by car and park easily and starting you visit at the back side .
The huge S414 is re-used by the French Army after the war and some changes are visible. They placed also a radar tower behind the bunker. From the road you can see a small house, built after the war that functioned as a controlled entrance towards a tunnel system under the S414. There is information that there was originally a M151 situated. Around the bunker are some Tobruks type 58c that where used as a perimeter defence.
In front of the S414 lies a Flak - Air defence bunker that looks like a FL242. Only the Flak emplacement could be visited when we were on this spot.

The S414 was the "observatory" fire control post for the huge battery Graf Spee that was equipped with 3x 28cm guns from the war ship Graf Spee. This location has its own number and description.

The actual M.K.B. Graf Spee gun location lies close to the suburb of Lochrist, from where you drive via the road called Leur Vras straight towards the area where the battery lies. In fact you can drive by car around the area over some small sandy road. You will need a kind of map or GPS location finder to find most of the objects. Unfortunately some of the objects are hard or cannot even be found for getting a glimpse of them !

We found some Sk ammunition bunkers an there is only one SK gun emplacement left for the 28cm ships gun. This location is now a days in us as a horse stable and storage. We visited some small Flak emplacements and did some hard work to find other bunkers, but most of them are heavily overgrown.
The SK Funkstation - Transmitting Station is very nice to see and can be found easily. Connected to this Transmitting Station is a tunnel complex with some corridors leading you towards 3x bunker of type M151 personnel shelters, all underground !
WARNING, in this tunnel system there are some dangerous holes that can cause you severe injuries !
